So Hello 2010!

Wow, its been a while... like a year.
Time really does fly, not only when your having fun, but when you have a "To Do List" that's about a mile long.

A lot has past in a year.
Ive grown a lot as a person. Been in a few eye opening relationships, gotten to know how precious time really is, and became a stronger artist.

My high school career is coming to an end soon, and its almost hard to belive that I'm not only and adult, but that college is on the horizon.

I hear great things about college and the freedom you get when it comes to choosing your own classes, plus more time for a social life. But its still weird to think that i may be able to live my own life soon? I know that sounds weird, but for the past 18 years Ive been told i have to do certain things, get a high school diploma, be a good kid and stay out of trouble. I still plan on being a good kid, but i have more of a choice now than ever to do what i want with my life, and in a way that's kinda scary. i don't know, but it kinda is for me.

Other than that... Ive really gotten time to work on my Art Portfolio. Its really growing into something i can be proud of. Lots of design, and surprisingly ceramics? That's a shocker for me, i never knew i would like ceramics, its kinda new, but exciting. I have found a love for Mix Media also, its my thing right now, I'm going with it.

This past Friday i went with one of my close friends Dajenae, on a search for a bicycle wheel for one of the projects I'm working on. We went to a local bicycle shop explaining that i was an artist looking for some new material to work with, and asking if they had any beaten up bicycle wheels that they didn't want anymore. So the first guy we talked to gave me this really weird look, as if he totally thought i was out of my mind. But luckily he wasn't the only person there and his partner thought it was a great idea and even gave me there number to call them when I'm finished with the project. I think he wanted to put it on there website? I'm not sure tho, he was kinda cute.

So having accomplished my task in the first stop, i felt kinda good and ended up going to a few other little local shops and seeing if they had any junk they just wanted to get rid of?

So after visiting 2 bicycle shops, a furniture store, a ceramics shop, coffee shop, and the library i ended up with......

-1 Bicycle Wheel (with spokes)
-3 Bicycle Rims
-20-40 pieces of broken pottery pieces
-About 5 Stencils
-3 weird looks
-1 phone number
And some good times!

AND IT WAS ALL FOR FREE!!!

I thought it was really cool how by just saying i was an artist some people would be willing to totally help me out and contribute, and how others would give me funny looks and wonder what the hell i was doing.
It defiantly made my day.

So you really never know what a little persuasion could get ya,
I got a phone number and a sweet bicycle wheel, you never know what you can find!

So remember the little things,
wear socks, and
Percolate your Brain!
